Tips for Using Signs to Promote Social Distancing

Social distancing means standing at least six feet away from any other person. In many states and cities, social distancing is required by law while other places it is only a recommendation. Owning a store, restaurant, or another establishment where the public spends time means you have the responsibility to enforce social distancing. Check out these tips for using signs to promote social distancing in your business.
Place signs at the entrance to your establishment
Inform people as they enter that your business requires social distancing. This is a great opportunity to use a window sign holder, as it will help prepare customers for your expectations and let them know what they can expect from you. This is a great time to mention if you require face masks as well. Putting this information readily available on windows and doors near the entrance gives customers the time to digest the information and decide if they feel comfortable with the safety measures you have in place. This also shows consumers that you’re keeping their health and safety in mind, as well as the health and safety of your staff, during this pandemic.
Put social distancing stickers down
Placing social distancing markers down on the ground in places where lines typically form is a great way to promote social distancing in what are otherwise crowded areas. Great spots for this are at a deli counter, in the checkout line, in the customer service line, and other popular points throughout your business. Social distancing stickers can help customers remain six feet apart at all times and can help your staff to enforce social distancing, as they can inform customers to stay on the designated stickers.
Make aisles one way
Making the aisles in your store or business one way is a great way to promote social distancing. It’s hard to walk in different directions and stay far enough away from others when in a small aisle—in fact, social distancing in these situations is nearly impossible. Thankfully, you can put down signs on the ground and in front of every aisle indicating which direction to walk. This prevents crashes and promotes social distancing.
