Business Owner's Guide To Successful Spring-Themed Marketing (Part 2 of 3)

May 17, 2018, 3:14 am

In the last post, we discussed some creative retail display ideas that are sure to attract eager spring shoppers. But there's much more to crafting the right marketing campaign than putting up a few signs and calling it a day -- after all, consumers are exposed to an average of 3,000 ads and promotional messages every day. But don't worry, we've got you covered to make sure your springtime product display ideas attract as many shoppers as possible. Here's part two of our business owner's guide to successful spring-themed marketing campaigns.

Emphasize Spring Hues and Tones
Nothing attracts customers' eyes like bright, festive colors, so don't be afraid to make your free standing signs and retail displays pop by using bright greens, pinks, and other spring tones. Just make sure your colors choices don't negatively affect your sign's ability to be seen.

"Which customer is more likely to buy from you -the one in a dreary mood or a good mood? It’s probably the customer in the better mood. Colors and season’s affect our moods and winter can be such a grey and dreary season. Infuse some new, bright colors into your spring sales signage and you can potentially perk up a few customers, grab the attention of some new ones and benefit from the increase in sales!" writes Justin Lada on Postupstand.

Market Using March Madness
Though March has passed this year, take note for next year that the month is a huge time for basketball lovers. With that in mind, it's the perfect opportunity to cash in on any and all basketball-themed promotions you can think of. This is probably easiest for athletic stores, but it can be done in countless types of retail. Computer stores, for example, can offer a promotion to help customers get their technology optimized to stream all the games, while grocery stores can help customers stock up for their upcoming viewing parties. Even if you promotion idea doesn't directly go hand-in-hand with customers' ability to watch or enjoy the game, even so much as labeling a typical promotion with a "college basketball" title is sure to be profitable next March.

Spring marketing is a bit complicated for beginners, but it's easy to see how just about anyone can cash in on all the season has to offer. Keep an eye out for the next post, where we'll have our third and final installment exploring the top spring marketing and  product display ideas.
